Position Overview:
The positions will focus on building envelope consulting and inspections for insurance related claims and litigation consulting. The positions will also work with DBI’s other offices in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver on an as needed basis as well as assisting the local offices with insurance related construction consulting. The positions will work with the DBI consulting division professional engineers, registered architects, and registered envelope consultants inspecting buildings and creating reports locally and out of state for our clients. Occasional international travel may also be required. Senior Building Envelop Consultants are critical to DBI’s success. Senior Building Envelope Consultants will be responsible for:
- Consult on building damage evaluations to determine scope and cause of damage.
- Be familiar with all building envelope systems in order to determine appropriate repair recommendations.
- Lead teams on inspections of building facades, roofs, and waterproofing for insurance related claims or litigation consulting.
- Prepare reports that are professional and technically logical to convey your findings and recommendations.
- Supervise and mentor less experienced staff.
- Participate in marketing and new business development.
- Participate in one or more professional associations.

Our Ideal Candidate:
- 10 years of experience in building envelope design, review, and assessments.
- Strong knowledge of IBC and ASCE codes.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Structural Engineer (SE), and/or Registered Architect.
- Ability to obtain and hold registrations in multiple states.
- IIBEC RRC, RWC, and/or REWC, RBEC certifications (one or more).
- Expertise in building structural systems.
- Expertise in building envelope systems.
- Expertise in water infiltration investigations.
- Expertise in building failure investigations.
