Position Purpose:
Performs functions to lead PPAP/MPAP inspection, quality control operations, and final inspection of finished products to meet quality standards. Investigates and analyzes quality problems, recommends solutions, and ensures corrective actions are completed. Reviews quality standards, tolerances, engineering changes and evaluating equipment, including fixture design, and obtaining of supplies and equipment. Supervises the Process Control and End of the Line Inspection functions. Leads internal quality audit program and has working knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards.
Essential Functions:
- Develop control plans, work instructions and determines measuring equipment for new product implementation/manufacturing.
- Organize, facilitate, participate on, coordinate and/or root cause analysis teams, continuous improvement teams, or other teams where use of quality planning techniques is appropriate. Help provide feedback from floor audits and charts.
- Communicate with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective action implementation at their facilities.
- Assist Management Representative with maintaining and improving Quality Management System.
- Monitor quality issues, identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and deliver quality reports, statistical analysis and presentations.
- Provide training for employees during implementation of new process changes.
- Supervises hourly team of Process and in-line inspections auditors.
- Coordinates audit teams and ensures compliance to standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Quality required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years implementing quality systems in a manufacturing and design environment.
- Experience with processes (machining, welding, forming, assembly), products and/or industry highly desirable.
- Experience with PPAP, MPAP, 8D and statistical analysis (paretos, histograms, control charts and other statistical tools).
- Ability to work well with others and clearly communicate both written and verbally.
- Ability to train others in Quality principals and tool use.
- Implementation of time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities is needed.
- Ability to travel occasionally required.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to move constantly.
- Frequently need to move about inside office and plant designated area to inspect inventory.
- Occasional movement of hands, wrists or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.
- Frequent need to position self to check quality on floor and on the shelves.
