Teel is adding a Senior Quality Engineer Engineer position to provide support and leadership to ensure the successful development of products and processes, production and process controls, continuous improvement, and corrective action to achieve results.  Lead teams to execute quality related projects, validations plans, set-up and verify statistical sampling plans, lead CAPA activity, implement production and process controls and mentor team members to achieve results.   

Primary Functions and Duties:

Assessment activities: production validation including follow up and evaluation of processes to identify problems, suggest and implement improvements including validation concepts.

  • Perform systematic audits of production activities to determine compliance with set.
  • Assist in the implementation of improvements in quality and productivity. 
  • Regularly includes interaction with production supervisors, operators, inspectors, and QA inspectors.
Prevention activities: proper planning to assure quality and efficient productivity in manufacturing.
  • Analyze and interpret customer specifications into accurate inspection instructions including PRWI’s, when needed, procure gage and measurement equipment suitable for use and environment to include calibration activities.
  • Provide leadership role in efficient SPC practices.
Post-production analysis to include testing and evaluation of new and problem jobs to identify limitations of product or assemblies. Make recommendations for improvements and assist in implementation as appropriate.
  • Provide analysis of data including recommendations and follow up with customer as deemed appropriate.
  • Regularly includes the development and or purchase of testing fixtures, determine testing parameters and sample sizes, perform physical tests and record data, preparation and presentation of data.
Statistical evaluations of data to determine process capability, process control limits and gage repeatability and reproducibility.

  • Prepare and present reports that display data that will lead to good decision making.

  • Determine if data submitted is useful, set up spreadsheets or utilize statistical software, and present data in a format useful for the application.

  • B.S. in Engineering with an emphasis in quality. 
  • Strong technical skills, mechanical skills, and attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately. 
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 a plus, ISO 13485, FDA Regulatory requirements a plus.
  • Proficient in Autocad, Microsoft Office Suite, Metrology and Gage design.
  • Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and concepts required.
  • Preferred Six Sigma Certification.
  • Preferred Certified Quality Engineer Certification (ASQ).
  • Ability to program measuring systems.
  • Experience with inline measurement technologies such as laser, ultrasonic, and x-ray preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment with a quality emphasis preferred.
