Who We Are:

The Earth Science section conducts applied research for commercial and government clients in the areas of hydrology (especially arid and semi-arid environments) as well as structural geology and geomechanics.

Objectives of this Role:

Collaborate with Earth Science staff to acquire and conduct technical work in one or more of the following areas:
Water resource analyses, ecohydrology, hydrometerology
Assist Earth Science staff in expanding the breadth of technical activities (e.g., risk assessment applied to water resource analyses or climate change or flooding hazards; remote sensing applications to hydrology)

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

Participate in business development (proposal writing), project management (scheduling, deliverables), and technical work in the areas of water resource analyses, ecohydrology, or hydrometerology
Present project results to clients and at scientific meetings, and publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Mentor junior staff in technical work and business development activities

Requirements:

Requires a Masters with a 3.00 GPA in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field in science or engineering with related industry experience, PhD preferred,
Professional license (e.g., Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Professional Engineer) in Texas or other states is preferred
3 years total in the following areas:
1. Water resource analyses, Ecohydrology, or Hydrometerology
2. Experience in business development including writing funded proposals to federal/state/local government (e.g., NSF, EPA, NASA) or commercial clients
3. Experience in mentoring junior staff in technical work (e.g., modeling, field or lab analyses) and business development activities (e.g., proposal writing, client presentations)
Must have experience in one of the following areas
1. Groundwater and/or surface water flow and transport modeling, including experience with relevant software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW)
2. Application of geochemistry to surface water or groundwater resource analysis
3. Remote sensing applications to hydrology, water resource analyses, or climate change
4. Probabilistic risk assessment or machine learning techniques as applied to areas such as water resource analyses or flooding hazards or climate change
5. Water resources resiliency and sustainability
6. Atmospheric sciences assessment of potential effects of hydraulic fracturing and wastewater disposal wells on water resource availability and quality
7. Karst or fractured rock hydrology
A valid/clear driver's license is required
