Great opportunity for a professional and experienced senior level electrical engineer in our Austin, Texas office! Candidates should have ample experience with electrical system and MEP building design. There will be a strong leadership component with this role: must be able to collaborate with multi-discipline project teams and communicate with staff and clients at a high level. Experience in engineering systems design for Healthcare, Higher Education, and/or Research Laboratory facilities is strongly preferred.
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for design, development, implementation, analysis of the design and project management of engineering systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design, specific to the discipline of Electrical Engineering.
Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality.
Responsible for all aspects of engineering design, specific to the discipline of Electrical Engineering, within designated projects.
Prepares engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection.
Conducts surveys to gather field data.
Prepares drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
Prepares technical construction specifications.
Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
Performs field inspections as part of the construction quality assurance process.
Interfaces with client.
Coordinates the activities of the engineering design team.
Helps develop company standards, policies and best practices with respect to specific discipline
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with project schedules and assign work to team as needed.
Assist with project budget and fees as needed.
Deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences as required as part of the design process.
Provide mentoring to other staff members
May be required to perform other duties as assigned
