Postdoctoral fellow positions are available in a multi-disciplinary laboratory aimed at developing the next generation of implantable devices for diabetes management. The primary focus is on tissue engineering techniques designed to mitigate the inflammatory reaction at the site of implant/device location. As such, the ideal candidate should have experience with implant technology regarding inflammation, immunology, wound healing and the foreign body reaction along with a strong interest in furthering diabetes research. The candidate will have the opportunity to work within a productive multidisciplinary environment. This position supports diverse scientific collaboration in academia and industry both domestic and internationally. The candidate must have a track-record of productivity, and be able to work collaboratively as well as independently.

A Ph. D. degree in tissue engineering or regenerative medicine, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, pathology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, pharmacology, the life sciences, or a related field is obligatory. The candidate should also have an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written. The candidate should be able to perform basic techniques in cell culture, molecular biology, protein isolation and protein characterization. In addition, the candidate should have experience in survival surgery in small laboratory animals. Significant experience with statistical and computer software including all of the Office suite programs (word, power point Excel) is desirable. Experience working with swine is preferred. |
