Gerald Mele & Associates, Inc. is seeking an entry to mid-level engineer with 0-5 years of experience to join our talented team. A full-time position is preferred, but part-time work is also an option for anyone still currently enrolled in school. The job responsibilities include performing engineering calculations and designing concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and cold- formed steel structures. Developing solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity is key to this position. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, a team player, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Ideal Candidate • Wants to become a Structural Engineer • Has already obtained, or will obtain in the next 12 months, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering • Received As or Bs in all engineering coursework taken and received As in all structural coursework taken • Has already passed the FE exam (E.I.T.) • Experience designing wood, steel, concrete and/or masonry structures is a plus • Understanding of all applicable U.S. building codes including the IBC, CBC and ASCE 7-10 is a plus • Knowledge of engineering software such as RISA-3D is a plus • Having a P.E. license is not required but is a plus |
